Energy Management for Large Commercial Owners

Working with NOLA-PS

Since 2013, GCE has been engaged with New Orleans Public Schools, both at the District level (RSD & OPSB) as well as directly with the Charter Management Organizations, providing energy management consulting services.

• Benchmarked approximately 50 NOLA PS schools using Wegowise and Energy Star Portfolio Manager
• Commissioning report reviews for the Recovery School District for several new schools as they were approaching substantial completion
• General BAS reviews at trouble schools as well as targeted BAS and trend reviews at schools having issues with their chiller plants
• Monitoring-based commissioning (daily BAS reviews and troubleshooting) – we are currently under contract to provide Energy Management for 14 NOLA PS facilities.

We have also worked with many of the schools on Energy Smart projects including LED lighting upgrades, chiller replacements, retrocommissioning and BAS upgrades, resulting in substantial energy savings across the district.

Working with the City of New Orleans

• Benchmarked 124 city-owned buildings in Wegowise
• Performed energy audits on 52 city-owned buildings, from small police stations and libraries up to City Hall and large courthouses.
• Helped the city use the Energy Smart program to make buildings more energy efficient primarily through the installation of new Building Automation Systems
• We are currently under contract to perform monitoring-based energy management on 30 city-owned buildings.
